To understand our systems, it’s important to understand plants and the processes that occur with them. Photosynthesis the process through wich plants generate their energy, in his last step plants exude organic matter that is transported through their roots, where it interacts with the microorganisms present in the soil. During this degradation, electrons are released and then collected by our system that stores them (a sort of biological battery) through the use of electrodes, giving us the ability to create voltage capable of lighting a series of LEDs. 6V.

  • Upon completing their photosynthesis process, plants exude organic matter through their roots.

  • The microorganisms that live in the soil consume organic matter, resulting in protons and electrons.

  • These electrons are captured by the electrodes contained in our system, giving the ability to generate voltage.

  • Finally the electrons are transported through cables to distribute the stored energy.

Our systems are highly adaptable, they can be scaled for spaces with a large presence of vegetation such as green walls and terraces, as the ILUMIPLANT system is capable of generating electrical energy in reduced spaces, avoiding the need for a large conventional electrical installation. The system and the plant develop in symbiosis naturally thanks to traditional irrigation, without the need to add chemical fertilizers for the system to function optimally.
